Taco Pizza
Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 packet of taco seasoning
  • 2 cans (8 ounces each) Pillsbury crescent dough
  • 1 can (16 oz.) of mashed beans (spicy jalapeño variety recommended)
  • 2-3 cups of grated cheddar cheese or a mix of Mexican cheeses
  • 1/2 cup of diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of chopped black olives
  • 4 green onions, diced
  • Cooking spray (optional, for greasing)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Crescent Dough:
    • Open the cans of crescent dough and flatten the dough into rectangles.
    • Place the dough onto a baking sheet or in a baking pan without greasing.
    • Press the dough onto the bottom and halfway up the sides to form a crust.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 11 to 13 minutes, or until golden brown.
  3. Cook the Ground Beef:
    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.
    • Drain excess fat.
    • Stir in the taco seasoning according to the package instructions.
  4. Prepare the Beans:
    • Heat the mashed beans in a microwave-safe bowl for 1 minute or until warmed.
  5. Assemble the Taco Pizza:
    • Spread a thin layer of warmed beans evenly over the baked crescent dough crust.
    • Sprinkle the seasoned ground beef evenly over the beans.
    • Add a layer of shredded cheese on top of the beef.
    • Scatter diced tomatoes, black olives, and green onions over the cheese.
  6. Final Bake:
    • Return the assembled pizza to the oven for 3 to 6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve:
    • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
    • Serve immediately.
