• 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegan butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish with vegan butter or cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the melted vegan butter, sugar, applesauce, peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly gooey. Let the brownies cool completely before cutting into squares.
