Taco Cheese Cups

These crispy cheese cups are made from baked cheese and filled with seasoned taco meat and your favorite toppings. They’re low-carb, high-protein, and absolutely irresistible!

Cheese Cups

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)

Taco Filling

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • ¼ cup water

Toppings

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 small tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Diced avocado or guacamole (optional)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Make the Cheese Cups

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2️⃣ Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3️⃣ Place about 2 tablespoons of cheese into small circles, spacing them apart.

4️⃣ Sprinkle lightly with garlic powder and paprika.

5️⃣ Bake for 5–7 minutes until melted and golden around the edges.

6️⃣ Let cool for about 30 seconds, then carefully place each cheese round over the bottom of an upside-down muffin tin or small bowl to form a cup shape.

7️⃣ Allow to cool completely until crisp.


Prepare the Filling

1️⃣ Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.

2️⃣ Drain excess grease if needed.

3️⃣ Stir in taco seasoning and water.

4️⃣ Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.


Assemble

1️⃣ Fill each cheese cup with taco meat.

2️⃣ Top with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, jalapeños, cilantro, and avocado.

3️⃣ Serve immediately.
