Simple Vegan Garlic Knots
Ingredients:
1 pound (about 450g) pizza dough (check ingredients to ensure it’s vegan)
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
Salt, to taste
Vegan butter (optional, for brushing)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Cut Dough: Cut the dough into strips, about 1 inch wide and 5-6 inches long.
Form Knots: Take each strip and tie it into a knot, tucking the ends underneath. Place each knot on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake: Bake the knots in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Prepare Garlic Oil: While the knots are baking, heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. Be careful not to let the garlic burn. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley and a pinch of salt.
Toss Knots: Once the knots are done baking, remove them from the oven and immediately brush them with the garlic oil mixture.
Serve: Serve the garlic knots warm, optionally brushing with more garlic oil or melted vegan butter before serving.
