These crispy keto almond flour crackers are the perfect low-carb snack to pair with cheese, dips, or enjoy on their own. They’re incredibly easy to make, and you can flavor them with your favorite herbs or spices for variety.
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cups almond flour
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional for extra crispiness)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or any seasoning of your choice, e.g., onion powder, Italian herbs)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (plus extra for sprinkling)
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional for extra flavor)
- 1 tablespoon water (if needed for dough consistency)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a silicone mat.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, combine the almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, salt, and grated Parmesan cheese (if using). Mix well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
Step 3: Add the Wet Ingredients
In a separate small bowl, whisk the egg and melted butter together. Pour the wet mixture into the almond flour mixture and stir until a dough forms. If the dough seems too dry, add 1 tablespoon of water to help bring it together.
Step 4: Roll Out the Dough
Place the dough between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out to about 1/8 inch thick (the thinner, the crispier the crackers will be).
Step 5: Cut and Poke Holes
Once rolled out, use a knife or pizza cutter to slice the dough into square or rectangular cracker shapes. Use a fork to poke holes in each cracker to prevent them from puffing up.
Step 6: Bake the Crackers
Transfer the parchment paper with the crackers onto your baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown. Keep an eye on them as they can burn quickly.
Step 7: Cool and Serve
Let the crackers cool completely on the baking sheet before handling. They will continue to crisp up as they cool. Once cooled, store them in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
Optional Additions:
- Everything bagel seasoning for a flavorful topping.
- Rosemary and sea salt for an herby twist.
- Cheddar cheese mixed into the dough for cheesy crackers.
