🍔 Homemade Cheddar Spinach Chicken Burgers
Servings: 4
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 12–14 minutes (Airfryer)
🛒 Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped (or ½ cup frozen, thawed and squeezed dry)
- ¾ cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- Optional: 1 tsp Dijon mustard or hot sauce for a flavor kick
🥣 Instructions:
- Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, spinach, cheddar, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion powder, salt, pepper, and mustard (if using). Mix gently until just combined — don’t overwork the mixture. - Shape the Patties
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into burger patties about ½ inch thick. - Preheat the Airfryer
Preheat your airfryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes. - Cook the Burgers
Spray the airfryer basket with a bit of oil to prevent sticking. Place the patties in the basket in a single layer (you may need to do this in batches).
Airfry for 12–14 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). - Toast the Buns (optional)
Toss the burger buns into the airfryer for the last 2 minutes for a perfectly toasted bite.
🍽️ Serving Suggestions:
- Serve on toasted buns with your favorite toppings like:
- Avocado or guacamole
- Tomato slices

- Spicy mayo or garlic aioli
- Or go low-carb by serving in a lettuce wrap or over a salad!
🧊 Storage Tips:
- Make ahead: Form patties and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
- Freeze: Freeze uncooked patties with parchment paper in between. Cook from frozen, adding 3–5 extra minutes.
