🍞 Homemade Bread in the Air Fryer

Fresh, warm, golden bread — no oven required! 🙌

If you thought homemade bread was out of reach without a traditional oven, think again! This air fryer bread recipe is soft on the inside, golden on the outside, and ridiculously easy. Perfect for beginners, weekend bakers, or anyone who just loves that fresh-baked bread smell filling the kitchen! 😍

🛒 Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water (about 110°F / 43°C) 💧
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt 🧂
  • 1 tbsp olive oil 🫒
  • Optional: melted butter for brushing 🍯

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Activate the Yeast 🧪

In a small bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast.
Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it’s foamy and bubbly — this means your yeast is alive and ready to work its magic!

2. Mix the Dry Ingredients 🥣

In a large mixing bowl, combine:

  • Flour
  • Salt

3. Make the Dough 💪

Pour the foamy yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour.
Stir until a rough dough forms, then turn it out onto a lightly floured surface.

4. Knead It 👐

Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes, until it’s smooth and elastic.
Think of it as a mini arm workout with a delicious reward!

5. First Rise 🌤️

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl.
Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rise for about 1 hour in a warm place, or until doubled in size.

6. Preheat Your Air Fryer 🔥

Set your air fryer to 350°F (180°C) while you shape your dough.

7. Shape the Loaf 🍞

Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf or round boule that fits your air fryer basket or insert.
Tip: Use parchment paper under the dough to help lift it out later.

8. Bake in the Air Fryer ⏲️

Place the dough into the basket and air fry for 20–25 minutes at 350°F.
You’ll know it’s ready when it’s golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

9. Cool and Slice 🔪

Let the bread cool for at least 10–15 minutes before slicing — this keeps it from becoming gummy.

🔥 Bonus: Butter It Up!

Brush the top with melted butter as soon as it comes out for a glossy, flavorful finish. 😋

💡 Tips & Variations:

  • Add herbsgrated cheese, or garlic powder to the dough for a savory twist 🌿🧄
  • Make mini rolls by dividing the dough into small balls (adjust cook time to 12–15 minutes)
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temp for up to 3 days or freeze for later
