Brown Sugar and Bacon Baked Beans (Weight Watchers Friendly)

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of turkey bacon (or center-cut bacon for lower points)
  • 2 cans (16 ounces each) reduced-sugar baked beans
  • 1 onion, diced
  • ¼ cup yellow mustard
  • ¾ cup unsweetened ketchup
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar substitute (like Swerve or a stevia blend)
  • 1 Granny Smith apple – peeled, cored, and diced

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Cook the turkey bacon in a large skillet or in the microwave until it’s slightly crispy. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
  3. In a 9-inch square baking dish, combine the reduced-sugar baked beans, diced onion, yellow mustard, unsweetened ketchup, brown sugar substitute, and diced apple. Stir well to combine.
  4. Garnish the top with slices of turkey bacon.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the turkey bacon is crispy, and the beans are bubbly.
