Air Fryer Fish and Chips

Ingredients:
For the fish:
2 white fish fillets (cod, haddock, or basa), cut into smaller pieces
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup cold sparkling water (or regular water works)
Olive oil spray
For the chips:
2 large potatoes, cut into thick wedges or fries
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. Prep the Chips:
Soak potato wedges in cold water for 20 minutes (removes excess starch).
Drain, pat dry, and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
2. Cook the Chips:
Preheat air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
Add the potato wedges in a single layer.
Air fry for 20–25 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crispy.
3. Prepare the Batter:
In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Slowly add sparkling water until a smooth, thick batter forms.
4. Coat and Cook the Fish:
Lightly dust the fish pieces in dry flour first (helps batter stick).
Dip into the batter to fully coat.
Place battered fish in a preheated air fryer at 400°F (200°C).
Spray with a little oil on top.
Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy and golden brown.
