Air Fryer Apple Pie Rolls
Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 2 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
For the Roll-Ups:
- 1 package of refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- Cinnamon sugar (a mixture of cinnamon and sugar for sprinkling)
Instructions:
Prepare the Filling:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Add the diced apples and cook for about 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
- Stir in the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the apples are tender but not mushy.
- Remove the filling from the heat and let it cool.
Assemble the Roll-Ups:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles.
- Brush each triangle with melted butter.
- Sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar on top of each triangle.
- Place a spoonful of the apple filling on the wide end of each triangle.
Roll and Air Fry:
- Roll up each triangle, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point.
- Place the rolls in a single layer in the preheated air fryer basket, making sure they’re not touching.
- Air fry for about 8-10 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and crispy. You may need to do this in batches if you have a small air fryer.
Serve:
- Once done, remove the apple pie rolls from the air fryer and let them cool slightly.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce if desired.
