Ingredients:
- ¾ cup boiling water
- 1 packet sugar-free gelatin (4 serving size)
- ½ cup cold water
- Ice cubes
- 1 cup plain non-fat yogurt (regular or Greek)
Instructions:
- Begin by preparing the gelatin mixture. In a heatproof bowl, dissolve the sugar-free gelatin packet in ¾ cup of boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.
- Once the gelatin has dissolved, add ½ cup of cold water to the mixture to help cool it down.
- To expedite the cooling process, place a few ice cubes in the bowl with the gelatin mixture. Stir until the ice cubes have melted and the mixture has cooled to room temperature.
- In a blender, combine the cooled gelatin mixture with 1 cup of plain non-fat yogurt. Blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Pour the blended mixture into individual ramekins or serving dishes, dividing it evenly among them. This step allows for portion control and creates perfectly sized servings for a late-night snack or dessert.
- Once the mixture is evenly distributed among the ramekins, place them in the refrigerator to chill for at least 2 hours. This chilling time allows the Orange Fluff to firm up and set, resulting in a creamy and indulgent texture.
- After 2 hours, remove the ramekins from the refrigerator and garnish each serving with a slice of orange or a sprinkle of orange zest for a decorative touch.
- Serve the Orange Fluff chilled and enjoy the refreshing burst of citrus flavor with every spoonful.
Additional Information:
- Sugar-free gelatin is a low-calorie alternative to traditional gelatin desserts, making it ideal for those watching their sugar intake or following a low-carb diet.
- Using plain non-fat yogurt adds creaminess and tanginess to the Orange Fluff while keeping it light and nutritious.
- Greek yogurt can be used for added protein and creaminess, but regular plain non-fat yogurt works just as well.
- Chilling the Orange Fluff for at least 2 hours allows the mixture to firm up and develop its characteristic fluffiness, resulting in a satisfying texture.
