Low-Carb Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef (such as sirloin or ribeye)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 large lettuce leaves (such as romaine or iceberg)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Beef:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the cooked beef from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook the Vegetables:
    • In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-6 minutes.
  3. Season:
    • Sprinkle the cooked vegetables with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Assemble the Sandwiches:
    • Divide the cooked beef into 4 portions and place each portion on a large lettuce leaf.
    • Top each portion of beef with the cooked vegetables.
    • Place a slice of provolone cheese on top of each portion of vegetables.
  5. Serve:
    • Fold the lettuce leaves over the beef, vegetables, and cheese to create sandwich wraps. Serve the low-carb Philly cheese steak sandwiches immediately.
