- 1 pita bread (white or whole wheat)
- 1 tablespoon pizza sauce
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 drizzle extra virgin olive oil
Toppings (Optional):
- 7 slices pepperoni (or more, to taste)
- 1/4 cup cooked sausage
- 1 tablespoon thinly sliced yellow or brown onion
- 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
Instructions
1. Assemble the Pizza
- Lay the pita bread flat on a plate or cutting board.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the surface using the back of a spoon.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Add your favorite toppings like pepperoni, sausage, onions, or garlic.

2. Prepare the Air Fryer
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 2-3 minutes.
- Place a short stainless steel trivet inside the air fryer basket (this helps keep the toppings in place).
3. Cook the Pizza
- Carefully place the assembled pita pizza on top of the trivet.
- Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 6 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the pita are crispy.
4. Serve
- Use tongs to carefully remove the pizza from the air fryer.
- Let cool for a minute, then slice into wedges and serve warm.
Tips
- Custom Toppings: Use any toppings you like, such as bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, or fresh basil.
- Healthier Option: Swap regular pita for whole wheat or gluten-free pita bread.
- Crispier Base: Lightly toast the pita in the air fryer for 1 minute before adding the toppings.
