Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients:
    • Chop the onion.
    • Slice the Beyond Sausage links and fry them until crispy.
  2. Cook the Onion:
    • In a large pan or skillet, sauté the chopped onion until it becomes translucent.
  3. Add Veggies:
    • Add the mixed frozen veggies to the pan and cook for a few minutes until they are thawed and slightly tender.
  4. Add Rice and Spices:
    • Add the basmati rice, turmeric, and garlic salt to the pan. Stir to combine and coat the rice with the spices.
  5. Add Water:
    • Pour in 2 cups of hot water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.

    • Once the rice is cooked, add the crispy Beyond Sausage slices to the pan and stir to combine.
    • Add a touch of hickory smoke if desired.
    • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
