- 2 cups hot water
- Fresh chopped parsley (optional)
- Fresh squeezed lemon juice (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare Ingredients:
- Chop the onion.
- Slice the Beyond Sausage links and fry them until crispy.
- Cook the Onion:
- In a large pan or skillet, sauté the chopped onion until it becomes translucent.
- Add Veggies:
- Add the mixed frozen veggies to the pan and cook for a few minutes until they are thawed and slightly tender.
- Add Rice and Spices:
- Add the basmati rice, turmeric, and garlic salt to the pan. Stir to combine and coat the rice with the spices.
- Add Water:
- Pour in 2 cups of hot water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
- Combine and Serve:
- Once the rice is cooked, add the crispy Beyond Sausage slices to the pan and stir to combine.
- Add a touch of hickory smoke if desired.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
