- 1 pound (16 oz) near meat (plant-based ground meat alternative)
- 1 bunch chopped parsley
- 1 1/2 cups cooked quinoa
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Seven Spice (a blend of allspice, black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, and nutmeg)
- Olive oil (for greasing the pan)
- Lemon juice (to sprinkle on top)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the near meat, chopped parsley, cooked quinoa, finely chopped onion (if using), and Seven Spice. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
- Form the mixture into small egg-shaped balls, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
- Lightly oil a baking pan with olive oil and place the formed kefta balls on the pan.
- Sprinkle the kefta balls with lemon juice.
- Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the kefta balls are firm and slightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the kefta balls with tahini sauce or hummus, and a variation of tabouli.
