Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2.5 cups wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 glass of hot water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

For the Filling:

  • 2 cups finely chopped green onion
  • 8 tablespoons vegetable oil for lubrication

Preparation:

  1. Creating the Dough: In a large bowl, combine 2.5 cups of wheat flour and 1 teaspoon of salt. Introduce the aromatic essence of sesame oil and 1 glass of hot water, stirring until a cohesive mixture forms.
  2. Kneading and Resting: Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface, kneading it for approximately 5 minutes. Add more flour as needed to prevent sticking. Once kneaded, cover the dough with stretch film and let it rest at room temperature for 1 hour, allowing its flavors to develop.
  3. Dividing and Rolling: Divide the rested dough into 8 pieces, rolling each out on a floured surface to achieve thinness (about 25cm in diameter). Apply a generous coat of vegetable oil, then sprinkle with butter, finely chopped green onions, and salt. Roll it into a log, reminiscent of a Cinnabon bun. Repeat this process with the remaining pieces, covering them with stretch film, and let them rest at room temperature for an additional 15 minutes.
  4. Layering and Rolling Again: Take each “doughnut” and roll it out to a diameter of approximately 10-12cm on a floured surface. Repeat this step, stacking the remaining pieces on top of each other and separating them with parchment paper.
  5. Sautéing to Golden Perfection: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium heat. Fry each piece until golden on both sides, achieving a total cooking time of about 8-10 minutes.
