Ingredients:

For the Sliders:

  • 1 lb thinly sliced beef (such as ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Slider buns or lettuce leaves (for serving)

For the Cheese Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions:

For the Sliders:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to broil.
  2. Cook Vegetables: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced bell peppers and onions. Sauté until softened and slightly caramelized.
  3. Cook Beef: Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced beef. Season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Split the slider buns and arrange them on a baking sheet. Spoon the cooked beef and vegetables onto the bottom half of each bun.
  5. Prepare Cheese Sauce: In a small saucepan over low heat, combine shredded provolone, shredded mozzarella, cream cheese, and heavy cream. Stir until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Add Cheese Sauce: Spoon the cheese sauce over the beef and vegetables.
  7. Broil: Place the baking sheet under the broiler for 1-2 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve: Place the top half of the buns on each slider and serve immediately.

For a Low-Carb Option:

If you prefer a low-carb option, you can skip the slider buns and serve the Philly Cheesesteak mixture in lettuce leaves or as a bowl.

Notes:

  • Vegetable Variation: Feel free to add mushrooms or other low-carb vegetables to the mix.
  • Cheese Options: Experiment with different cheeses for the sauce, such as cheddar or Swiss.
  • Make-Ahead: You can prepare the beef and vegetables in advance and assemble the sliders just before broiling.
