A cinnamon-dusted, buttery Keto Churro Doughnut Holes with your preferred sugar substitute. These churro bites are ideal for a sweet mid-afternoon snack or a quick on-the-go breakfast.
Ingredients
almond flour, 1 cup
14 cup protein powder, either vanilla or unflavored
Baking powder, 1 1/4 teaspoons
Xanthan gum, 1 teaspoon
1 cinnamon stick
0.5 teaspoons of salt
14 cup melted butter
sour cream, two tablespoons
heated water in 2 tablespoons
Ingredients for Cinnamon Sugar Coating
14 cup melted butter
30 g of monk fruit
Cinnamon, 2 teaspoons
Directions
STEP 1
Preheat
Set the oven’s temperature to 325.
STEP 2
Add each component.
To a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the keto doughnut holes. Assemble by combining. In case the dough is crumbly, add a little extra water.
STEP 3 Form balls.
Roll the dough into 1/2 to 1-inch balls, then lay them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about an inch apart. Your hands will roll the dough more easily if they are damp or lightly sprayed with cooking spray.
4th Step: Bake it
6 minutes of baking at 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
STEP 5: Butter the bread.
Dip each doughnut bite in the melted butter once they have cooled to the touch. After that, coat in a monk fruit and cinnamon mixture.
Keto Baking with Protein Powder
I enjoy baking using protein powder. It not only adds extra protein to your food, but it also serves as a flavorless, non-gritty flour substitute. A dry baked product can be produced using protein powder.
Perfect Keto is the brand of protein powder I prefer to use when baking and mixing. Their grass-fed, keto-friendly, and MCT oil-light whey protein powders all come from animals. Unflavored or vanilla protein powder is the best flavors to use in a recipe.
Keto Prep Advice
These simple keto doughnut holes can be prepared in advance because they keep their freshness at room temperature when left out on the counter.
Alternatives to Sour Cream
This dish uses sour cream to add moisture. A dry, crumbly baked item can be produced with protein powder. To counteract the protein powder, sour cream adds fat and moisture. Additionally, it has a creamy flavor. Keto dieters can enjoy sour cream. Sour cream is keto-friendly because it has 0.3 grams of carbohydrates per tablespoon. Additionally, it has more fat and protein. You can use heavy cream or full-fat greek yogurt in place of the sour cream in this doughnut recipe if you like.
