Instructions:
- Drain and Dry Tofu: Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess moisture. Pat dry with paper towels and cut into sticks.
- Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Set Up Coating Stations:
- Dish 1: All-purpose flour
- Dish 2: Glaze (hoisin, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder mixture)
- Dish 3: Panko bread crumbs
- Coat the Tofu Sticks:
- Dip each tofu stick in flour, shaking off excess.
- Dip into the glaze mixture, coating evenly.
- Roll in panko bread crumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Fry the Tofu Sticks: Heat vegetable oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat (about 1/8 inch deep). Fry the tofu sticks in batches, turning every couple of minutes until golden brown and crispy. This should take about 4-5 minutes per batch.
- Drain and Serve: Remove the fried tofu sticks and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
