Equipment
air fryer
6-ounce ramekins or custard cups
Ingredients
2 fresh eggs any amount of eggs can be made; see notes below
non-stick cooking spray
6 tablespoons water you’ll use 3 tablespoons for each egg you cook
Instructions
Spray each ramekin or custard cup with non-stick cooking spray and set them into the basket of the air fryer.
Add 3 tablespoons of water to each cup.
Preheat the Air Fryer (with the cups of water in it) to 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
Carefully open the air fryer so the water does not spill water out of the cups. Crack one egg into each cup. NOTE: The egg whites may begin to cook as you do this due to the hot water.
Cook on 360 degrees for 5-6 minutes.
Check the eggs when the cooking time is complete. They will continue to cook while in the hot water so be careful to not overcook them (unless you want a less runny yolk).
The cups will be hot so take care in removing them from the air fryer. Gently slide a small pliable small spatula around the edge of the egg and underneath to free it in the even it has stuck to the cup while cooking.
Use a spoon to gently lift it out of the cup onto your plate or onto a piece of toast.
Notes
Use fresh eggs for best results.
NOTE: we have not tested this method with silicone egg cups. Because they will not conduct heat we do not recommend them for this recipe.
Serving size
A serving size is usually 1-2 eggs. This recipe can be used for any amount of eggs. Depending on the amount used it may require multiple Batches in your air fryer.

Air Fryer Poached Eggs

Introduction: Elevate your breakfast experience with our meticulously crafted recipe for poached eggs in the air fryer. This culinary masterpiece guarantees the same quality as traditional stove-top poaching but with unparalleled ease and efficiency. In just 10 minutes, you’ll have perfectly poached eggs that are gluten-free, low in calories, and bursting with flavor.

Equipment and Ingredients: To embark on this culinary journey, ensure you have an air fryer, 6-ounce ramekins or custard cups, non-stick cooking spray, fresh eggs, and water. The careful selection of these elements is crucial for achieving optimal results.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ramekins: Begin by spraying each ramekin or custard cup with a light coating of non-stick cooking spray, ensuring a seamless release of the poached eggs.
  2. Add Water: Pour 3 tablespoons of water into each cup, setting the stage for a steamy and precise cooking environment.
  3. Preheat the Air Fryer: Take your culinary adventure to new heights by preheating the air fryer to 400 degrees for a mere 5 minutes. This step ensures a consistent and controlled cooking environment.
  4. Crack the Eggs: With precision and finesse, crack one fresh egg into each prepared cup. Take note that the hot water may initiate the cooking process for the egg whites, enhancing the overall texture.
  5. Set the Cooking Temperature: Adjust the air fryer temperature to 360 degrees and set the timer for 5-6 minutes. This carefully calibrated cooking time guarantees the perfect balance between a runny yolk and a fully cooked egg.
  6. Monitor the Cooking Process: As the timer approaches completion, vigilantly check the eggs. The residual heat will continue the cooking process, so exercise caution to achieve your desired yolk consistency.
  7. Careful Extraction: The ramekins will be hot, requiring delicate handling. Gently slide a pliable spatula around the egg’s edge and underneath to ensure a smooth release from the cup.
  8. Plate Your Culinary Creation: With a spoon, delicately transfer the poached egg onto your preferred serving surface – be it a plate or a slice of toast.
