Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu:
    • Press the tofu: Wrap the tofu block in paper towels or a clean kitchen towel and place something heavy on top (like a cast iron skillet or a few heavy books) to press out excess water for about 20-30 minutes. Alternatively, use a tofu press if you have one.
    • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  2. Seasoning:
    • In a bowl, mix together minced garlic, turmeric powder, Jamaican spice blend, cornflour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Coat the Tofu:
    • Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes or rectangles.
    • Toss the tofu pieces in the seasoning mixture until well coated.
  4. Bake the Tofu:
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease with cooking spray or oil.
    • Arrange the tofu pieces on the baking sheet in a single layer.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tofu is crispy and golden brown.
  5. Finish the Dish:
    • In a large bowl, combine Frank’s RedHot Sauce and Tangy Bangy sauce.
    • Once the tofu is baked, transfer it to the bowl with the sauces and toss gently until evenly coated.
    • Sprinkle garlic bagel seasoning over the tofu bites and toss again to incorporate.
  6. Serve:
    • Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
