Air Fryer Eggs: Perfectly Cooked Every Time

Introduction: Eggs are a breakfast staple and mastering the art of cooking them to perfection can elevate your morning routine. With the convenience of an air fryer, achieving your desired egg consistency is easier than ever. Whether you prefer soft-boiled, hard-boiled, or jammy eggs, this recipe has got you covered. Get ready to enjoy delicious eggs in minutes, hassle-free!

Ingredients: Prepare the following ingredients for your air fryer egg adventure:

  • 8 eggs (or as many as comfortably fit in your air fryer)
  • Water and ice, for an ice bath

Equipment: You’ll need an air fryer for this recipe. I recommend using a model like the Ninja 4 qt for optimal results.

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Start by preheating your air fryer to 270 degrees Fahrenheit for 2 minutes. If your air fryer doesn’t have a setting below 300 degrees, select the “reheat” function instead of “air fry”. Refer to your instruction manual for specific guidance on adjusting temperatures.

2. Arrange the Eggs: Carefully place the eggs into the air fryer basket in a single layer. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you can cook up to 8 eggs at once.

3. Air Fry the Eggs: Cook the eggs according to your desired level of doneness:

  • For hard-boiled eggs with fully cooked yolks, air fry for 15 minutes.
  • Adjust the cooking time based on your preference: 9 minutes for very soft with slightly runny whites, 11 minutes for jammy eggs, or 13 minutes for slightly undercooked yolks.

4. Transfer to an Ice Bath: Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, immediately transfer them to an ice bath. The ice bath, consisting of water and ice, helps halt the cooking process and facilitates easy peeling. Allow the eggs to sit in the ice bath for at least 2 minutes.

5. Peel and Serve: After the eggs have cooled in the ice bath, peel off the shells and serve them as desired. Whether enjoyed on their own, added to salads, or as part of a breakfast spread, these air fryer eggs are sure to impress.

Expert Tips:

  • Air Fryer Temperature: If your air fryer doesn’t offer temperatures below 300 degrees Fahrenheit, don’t worry. Simply subtract 1-2 minutes from the recommended cooking times.
  • Ice Bath: Don’t skip the ice bath step. It’s essential for preventing overcooking and ensuring easy peeling.
  • Leave Space: Ensure the eggs are arranged in a single layer with space between each one to ensure even cooking.
  • Cook Times: Experiment with cooking times to achieve your preferred egg consistency. Adjust the cooking times based on your personal taste preferences.

Conclusion: With the help of your air fryer, preparing perfectly cooked eggs has never been easier. Whether you’re craving a classic hard-boiled egg or a soft and runny delight, this recipe offers versatility and convenience. Say goodbye to guesswork and hello to consistently delicious eggs every time you use your air fryer. Enjoy the convenience and flavor of air fryer eggs for a satisfying start to your day!

Expert Tips

  • Air Fryer: If your air fryer doesn’t go below 300 degrees, that’s ok! You will just need to subtract 1-2 minutes from the recommended cooking times. In order to use 270 on my air fryer I need to select “reheat” instead of “air fry”. Check your instruction manual to see if your air fryer has any functions like this.
  • Ice Bath: Don’t skip the ice bath! This is important to prevent overcooking and to help them peel easily.
  • Leave Space: Make sure not to overcrowd your air fryer. You’ll need space between each egg to ensure proper cooking.
  • Cook Times: Keep in mind that the cook times will vary depending on how to like your eggs. For a very soft “boil”, with slightly runny whites: 9 minutes. For jammy eggs, 11 minutes. For just slightly undercooked yolks: 13 minutes. For hard “boiled”, 15 minutes. Feel free to play around with these times when you get comfortable and have a preference that isn’t listed here.
